Glipizide is used for treating the patients suffering from diabetes. It should be consumed with atmost care and the instruction given by the physicians should be strictly followed. Usually Glucotrol or the Glipizide is advised for those patients who are not maintaining a controlled diet and regular exercises. The basic working of this drug is to increase the body’s feel towards the insulin present. With this the glucose present in the body can be efficiently utilized. Thirty-seven first-degree relatives of patients with type 2 diabetes fulfilling WHO criteria for IGT were randomized to treatment with either Glipizide 2.5 mg once daily or matching placebo for 6 months.

Researches and tests that have been conducted show that Glipizide or Glucotrol should be used with due care in some conditions to avoid unwanted troubles. When Glipizide are consumed by people with age above 75 years should be strictly taken under the supervision of the doctor, else it may lead to some severe damage of body parts. This drug is a very bad combination with people suffering from severe or even moderate heart problems. When the drug is taken by heart patients, People having complaints regarding low hemoglobin levels in the blood and also people suffering from swelling problems may show adverse effects

Patients suffering from lever disease cannot take Glipizide above 2.5 mg as it will badly effect the functioning of lever. So one should be vigilant in taking Glipizide or Glucotrol.
